Lydia Harris is known in the music industry as a trailblazer. She is the former head of Death Row Records, at a time when women were relegated to the roles of secretary or assistant. Her vision and tenacity broke down gender role barriers at the label, as she proved herself a worthy advisory in the male dominated rap music industry. It was Lydia’s eye for talent that moved her, and ex-husband Michael “Harry O” Harris to invest in the label before it became the powerhouse indie label that introduced the world to Snoop Dogg, Lady of Rage, the DOC, Nate Dogg, and some of Tupac’s most celebrated music.
“I’ve always silently known I would come back to music; it was just a matter of time. When I heard Destiny Rydas, there was no doubt I wanted to work with her, so I signed her to LHE. She’s the full package; talent, looks and drive,” said Harris. “I’ve brought back music vet, Kevin Black to run Radio Promotion, and I’m building a team of heavy hitters to create a one-stop-shop entertainment empire that will pump out music, tv & film projects, and urban literature.”
